Position Summary: Our growing diverse global organization has 220 staff in our headquarters in Boston, our office in Ethiopia and based remotely throughout the United States, Ghana, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia, Qatar and the United Kingdom. Staff work across many cultures and time zones. The HR Generalist will contribute to all Human Resources functions with the aim of helping the Institute achieve its goals and embody our values of trust, courage, equity and love.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate the recruitment efforts for all open positions, including setting up job postings, managing the inbox, improving employment branding, and scheduling & participating in interviews
  • Lead IHI Alumni network communications
  • Manage the affirmative action plan and EEO-1 compliance and reporting, including collecting and updating demographic data for current open positions
  • Administer Northeastern Co-op and Health Career Connection Programs, including recruitment, supervision, and design
  • Coordinate and drive the process and data presentation for recurring staff surveys, and monthly and quarterly internal reports
  • Assist the Operations Director with the annual compensation review process
  • Participate in the planning and offering of internal trainings
  • Engage in touchpoints throughout the employee life cycle from onboarding and orientation to exit interviews, while improving the employee experience
  • Optimize existing IT systems to inform data driven decision-making
  • Support HR team members and assist with ad hoc projects, as needed
  • Work with our HR Operations Team to support payroll and benefits administration as needed
  • Support the development, socialization, and rollout of ER processes, guidelines and practices
  • Coach, counsel, and engage in corrective action processes in support of the Employee Relations Human Resources Generalist

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of HR technical principles
  • Ability to address all HR issues with the utmost confidentiality and with decorum
  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organize, meet deadlines, and multitask
  • Skilled at interacting appropriately with a diverse group of global employees
  • Passion to learn and take on new challenges
  • Strong data driven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage IT systems including ATS, Word, PPT and Excel
  • Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and the improvement of societal systems
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and HR certification preferred
  • Must have 2-5 years previous experience in at least two of the following HR technical area: global HR, benefits, compensation, employee relations, talent acquisition and/or training & development
